Requisition using the Catalog
The Catalog provides different methods for creating requisitions:

Search Catalog – Search the Item Master by Manufacturer Number

Express Order - When you know the exact Lawson Item Number

Don’t know the manufacturer number?

Use Express Ordering
Generic Product Name
Not recommended because:
- Only 30 characters available
- Many words get abbreviated

Step 3. Enter Manufacturer Number into search bar and choose

If you don’t know the Manufacturer Number
-
See your manager or
- See the product package
-
The Manufacturer Number is not case sensitive
- Capital and lower-case letters both work
-
If Lawson doesn’t find a match, change to Special/Service for your requisition
-

Tip: Enter the first few characters or a partial number and Lawson will pop-up suggestions
- Be sure to choose the correct item
- Be sure the description and vendor are correct
Step 4. Choose Item

Items with
are stocked in the storeroom

Step 5. Be aware of the available amounts! Available lists the quantity in stock in the storeroom

If you order more than the available amount, only part of your order will be filled and delivered
Fill or “Kill” policy
Storeroom delivers only up to the available quantity

Items ordered in excess of available will be “killed”

You will need to order the killed amount when stock becomes available
Stock vs non-stock
Items coming from storeroom vs outside vendors

Place Stock and non-stock orders in separate requisitions
How to follow-up on “killed” stock
- Wait a day and try again, or
- Open CapitaLink home page
- See Alerts
- Click Supply Issues for a full list of Stock Outs
- When the product is dropped from the Stock Outs list, you can try again

Step 6. Notice UOM and Cost
Important Considerations:

UOM: Be careful of the UOM (Unit of Measure) when determining the quantity needed
- UOM code: Click on the 2-letter code for additional details
Step 7. Click Action and enter an amount in Quantity

Step 8. Choose Add Selected

- You will see the order added to the Requisition

Step 9. Complete Your Order
- Continue to search and add items to your order

Use the trash icon
to remove individual lines if needed

Step 10. Choose Release when the Requisition is complete

- The following dialog box will appear

Step 11. Receive System-Generated Email Communication when the Requisition is submitted

- And another email that your submission was approved
- Storeroom purchases are automatically and immediately approved

Reminder: You will NOT receive an email if part or all of your order is “killed”
